Discovering Columbus: My Top 3 Favorite Coffee Shops
Columbus, Ohio, has become a haven for coffee and food lovers alike, boasting an array of unique cafes, each with their own coffee offerings and differing atmospheres. Here are three of my absolute favorite coffee spots in the city that are must for anyone looking to enjoy a perfect cup of joe.
1. Fox in the Snow
Fox in the Snow is more than just a coffee shop; it’s an experience. Nestled in a charming, industrial-style building, this café features an array of baked goods that are the star of the show here and truly why this place is my favorite. The moment you step inside, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee mixed with the sweet scent of pastries envelops you.
The coffee is good but it's the pastries that keep you coming back for more. One of my favorite parts is getting to watch the pastry chefs mix, fold and prep the dough behind glass windows. I'm so very intrigued by the process.
Fox in the Snow’s vibrant community vibe makes it an ideal spot for catching up with friends or diving into a good book. The warm and inviting decor, complete with large windows that let in plenty of natural light, creates a perfect setting to unwind. They place an emphasis on human connection and do not offer wifi but rather hope to be a place for people to come together face-to-face and engage with each other.
2. Morning Ritual
For those who prefer a minimalist aesthetic, Morning Ritual is the place to be. This coffee shop focuses on simplicity and quality, and offers some of my favorite coffee. They don't have an extensive menu like many of the popular chain coffee shops but everything I have ever ordered has been delicious.
The atmosphere here is relaxed and inviting, making it an excellent spot for remote work or catching up with friends. Plus, their small selection of pastries and snacks complements the coffee perfectly, making for a well-rounded experience.
3. Cup of Joe
Last but certainly not least is Cup of Joe, a beloved local gem that feels like a home away from home. This shop has a warm, welcoming vibe that draws you in the moment you walk through the door. The interior is filled with cozy seating options, making it an ideal place to settle in for a long chat or a quiet afternoon. This is where I did much of my study time while in college and have so many fond memories in Cup of Joe.
The staff is friendly and they’re always happy to recommend something new if you’re feeling adventurous. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick cup or planning to stay for a while, Cup of Joe provides the perfect backdrop for your coffee journey.
